ASAP is a joint initiative of General& Higher education department, Govt. of Kerala. The aim of ASAP is to impart specific skills and thus enhance the employability of undergraduate students. The basic ASAP programme is a combination of 3 courses, namely Communication Skills in English, Basic IT and a skill course.

“Walk With a Scholar” (WWS) scheme has been implemented for the first year Under Graduate students in Arts, Science and Commerce in our college. This programme, which is voluntary in nature, will be open to 30 first year students (Scholars) of the under graduate programme of study in a college, and provides needy students with guidance and orientation so as to prepare them for employment or to select areas of higher study. The mentoring scheme is planned to identify the opportunities available for the scholars, the areas suitable for them, the manner in which the scholar should proceed to achieve them, and to evolve ways by which they can be acquired. While faculty from respective institutions are the Internal Mentors for the programme, the External Mentor will be from the Industry and other professions, including engineering, medicine and media. Motivational camps, visits other institution are also envisaged as part of the Programme.

The Scholar Support Programme (SSP) offers personalised additional instructional sessions of 60 hours each in Semesters 1 & 2 to support 50 academically backward students. Six teachers specialised in six areas of knowledge and a co-ordinator is involved in the successful implementation of the programme. The extra coaching has proved to be highly beneficial to the weaker students who aspire to be successful in life. The state government is gearing up to implement the programme in a more efficient way in 2013-14.
